I'm Frugal ! ! !

I started listening to Dave Ramsey last May and ever since I have been into paying off the debt and getting fiscally fit!
But until I started reading everyone's blogs here I was still not being very frugal. But I am now!
I spent $4.75 on lunch at Sonic yesterday while I was out running errands, and it bothered me so much.
Two months ago I would not have thought twice about spending that or more for lunch, but now it really bothers me!
I was like, "$4.75, that is outrageous!"
I was always the type who would not order water in a restaurant. I would always order iced tea or soft drink, but now I am rethinking that. Now, I realize it is the little things that make the difference.
Hey, old dogs really can learn new tricks!

    Good for you. My husband and I found out what the real culprits are we you go out to eat and it's the drinks. And no, I don't pay $1.75 for a bottle of water that is more expensive than a coke.

    I've even learned to take some smaller snacks along with me. Instead of eating out, I'll have a couple of smaller snacks that will tide me over when I get home, or I'll go to the store and buy Turkey and know that I'll have it for a few days a lot cheaper than what one would pay in a restaurant.

    I know what you mean! We are on a trip right now to NC and we rolled all our saved change and that is what we are eating on. We have a Starbucks card that was given to DH and that is where our coffee is coming from and we used miles to pay for our flight.

    I have never paid for a drink in a restaurant in my adult life. I always drink water and save money. When I do eat fash food, I get a hamburger only, usually only spend about $2. You are learning!!

    Hello and welcome! Even Taco Bell (my favorite cheap lunch) is never less than $3.50.

    How about a McD $1 lunch of: Chicken Sandwich, snack parfait and drink? Cost about $3 and change.

    Also, I wanted to add that occasioally, I'll go to McDonald's. They have a value meal there. It's a double cheeseburger and the value meal fries are only 1.00 too. It's a great deal for $2. and tax. The hamburger is delicious.

    I actually splurge once a week on a $1 meal at taco bell or BK. You can get a nice lunch for $1. then I take it back to work and drink my canned soda. When I Cut out soda, even better. Just had to say Taco Bell can be $1 if you cut out the drinks!
