Trying to Refinanace and a question

February 20th, 2013 at 08:26 pm

I am fiddling around with trying to refinance our home loan today. While I was checking my credit score at Credit Sesame, it offered a better deal on a home loan refinance from Bank of the Internet. I requested a contact and someone did call me. He was very polite and knowledgeable and after getting all my information said my husband and I can refinance our home at 3.125% for 15 year fixed loan.
Long story short. How do you know a company like this is credible? Everything seems legit.
Who would you suggest I try to refinance with?

I did a quick check on the better business bureau site that seems to indicated it is an accredited business. Might do a little more looking yourself before you commit. Good luck!

Hey thanks CCF. I did a google search for them and found some negative comments. I will try again.

Side note...before you commit to the offer, make certain you understand all the fees and charges and know what they add up to. Adding fees to mortgage means paying interest on fees for a long time. Have you reviewed how amortization tables work.

Yeah, definitely google them... and look for previous customers who might be able to offer a lead as to their own experiences with them, as well. BBB offers a little bit of insurance, too. Good luck!
